Toni is the Senior Environmental Microbiologist for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. She has more than 33 years of experience teaching and researching in the field of wastewater microbiology and has published two books in a series of handbooks on wastewater microbiology and process control: “Wastewater Microbiology: A Handbook for Operators” published by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and “A Wastewater Microbiology Laboratory Manual for Operators” published by the Operator Training Committee of Ohio (OTCO). She has also authored or coauthored numerous technical papers. Toni received the Outstanding Laboratory Analyst Award from the Illinois Water Environment Association in 2014. She participated in our Collection Systems and Wastewater Treatment Webinar series in 2013 by giving a two hour webinar on microbiology. The objective of this class is to give activated sludge front-line supervisors and operators, and process control operators and engineers, a more in-depth understanding of activated sludge microbiology and to help them get the most out of their microscope. Download a course outline here.
