The Colorado Water Quality Control Commission adopted new nutrient criteria in Regulation 31 and Regulation 85 in 2012. The nutrient criteria have operational and capital expenditure implications for all wastewater treatment plants in Colorado. This course will walk attendees through the new regulatory requirements and basic and advanced themes in nitrogen and phosphorus removal. The course is focused on operational considerations and troubleshooting.

Sidney Innerebner has over 24 years of experience as a trainer with 16 of those years specifically geared to water and wastewater training. Sidney is an adjunct professor at the Colorado School of Mines and has been an invited trainer at the Leadville School, Boulder School, and Fundamentals Short School for many years. She holds an A wastewater license and an A industrial wastewater license in Colorado and has served as the ORC for three wastewater plants. Sidney is the Chair for the Water Environment Federation Plant Operations and Maintenance Committee.
